一、课程的目的和任务

1 目的和任务

经济管理专业英语是基于MBA专业的基础课为范围编制的,主要是对一些经济管理领域的基本概念和基本经济策略的介绍,是一门经济管理专业的基础课程,要求学生对一些基本经济管理概念和经济策略有一定了解和认识。由于中国经济的不断发展且中国以及中国企业已经越来越快地加入到全球化的浪潮中。因此,学生对一些基本经济管理概念和经济策略的了解非常必要,这有助于学生毕业后从事相应工作,阅读相关的英文文献,提高学生的英语应用能力。

该课程主要涉及微观与宏观经济政策、统计分析、管理信息系统、运营管理、市场营销、等内容。通过这些课程的学习,使学生掌握基本经济管理概念和经济策略,具备一定的阅读、翻译、表达能力,达到在学生毕业后能够从事相关工作的目的。

三、课程教学内容和教学基本要求

Part one:Microeconomic

理论教学 4学时,习题1

1. The concept of utility

教学重点: The concept of the utility and the use of utility

教学难点: Compare the differences between the two measure ways.

教学内容与要求:

1)  The concept of the utility.

2) The utility is variable not absolute. It has different understanding When the different people use the different products.

3) Two ways to measure utility---- cardinal rankings and ordinal rankings, and the use of these two ways. It requires the students to understand the two ways to measure utility

2. How Markets Function

教学重点:These two key element in market analysis.

教学难点: The full understanding of the four main forms of market structure and organization.

教学内容与要求:

Two key element in market analysis.

1) The structure of competition. (Whether there are many or few sellers in the industry).

2) Whether the products of sellers are identical or differentiated and four main forms of market structure and organization. a. Perfect competition b. Monopolistic competition. c. Oligopoly. d. Monopoly.

Part two: Macroeconomics

理论教学5课时,习题1

1.Outlays and components of demand

教学重点:The clear explanation of each component in economic areas. To let the students know these four components.

教学难点: The concept of government expenditure and government spending;

教学内容与要求:

1. Outlays and components of Demand. There are four components of the total demand for domestic output.

1) Consumption spending by households.

2) Investment spending by businesses or households.

3) Government purchases of goods and services.

4) Foreign demand.

2. Macroeconomic policy

教学重点:The instruments of monetary policy and fiscal policy

教学难点: List all the affection of the stabilization Policy and their difference to know how it affected.

教学内容与要求:

The monetary policy and fiscal Policy and the stabilization Policy. It requires the students to know these three policies and what affected the stabilization Policy and how it affected.

Part three: Statistical analysis for decision making

理论教学3学时,习题1

1. Why sample

教学重点: The ways to survey: census and sample; the reasons for sampling

教学难点: The problems arose from census. The larger and less accessible the population of interest, the greater the cost of obtaining a census vis a vis collecting a sample.

教学内容与要求: the reasons for sampling; The problems of US population census

Part four Management information system.

理论教学:4学时

1.hotel computer applications

教学重点The application of computer in hotel management

教学难点:How has the computer been used in the hotel

教学内容与要求Hotels use computer for applications, such as: accounting, inventory and payroll. It requires the students to know the applications in the hotel reservation.

Part fiveOperation management

理论教学:4学时

1. order processing

教学重点: The sequence of the order processing and the function of the order promising

教学难点: The steps of the order processing and the function of each step

教学内容与要求: The meanings of the order and the subtype of the order, order promising, order processing sequence. It requires the students to know the order processing and the sequence of it, the concept of the order processing and its function.

Part six: Marketing

理论教学4学时

一、     pulling and pushing marketing strategies in a market--oriented system

教学重点:The using of the pulling, pushing marketing strategies and sale's promotion in different circumstances and the function of each strategy

教学难点:To compare the function of the pull strategy, push strategy and the sale's promotion in the marketing strategies

教学内容与要求:The pulling and pushing marketing strategies in a market--oriented system and the main uses of these two strategies. It requires the students to learn to use these two strategies.

Part seven Managerial finance

理论教学:5学时

1.Motives for using debt

教学重点:Why the firms use the debt and what is the benefit of using of debt

教学难点:How the firms use the debt in their business and what benefit did they get.

教学内容与要求:The three motives for using the debt. It requires the students to know all these motives.

Part eight Organizational behavior

理论教学:3学时

1. What is OBM

教学重点:The feature of the OBM and the methodology used in OBM

教学难点:To compare the difference between the two definitions of OBM

教学内容与要求:The different definition of the OBM and features of each definition .it requires the students to know those features of the OBM.

四、课程考核办法

本课程的理论课成绩由考试成绩、平时作业2部分组成,按百分制计。其中:

考试成绩占: 70%(理论考试成绩通过期末开卷考试方式评定)。

平时作业成绩占: 30%(按每次作业完成情况和课堂回答问题的情况评定)。
